The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A strong earthquake occurred about 80 km (50 miles) east of Calbayog, Samar, Philippines or about 560 km (345 miles) east southeast of Manila, Philippines at 10:14 AM MST, Nov 18, 2003 (Nov 19 at 1:14 AM local time in Philippines). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available.
