The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A light earthquake occurred IN NORTHWESTERN ILLINOIS about 10 miles northwest of Ottawa or about 75 miles west southwest of Chicago at 12:10 AM MDT, Jun 28, 2004 (1:10 AM CDT in Illinois). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. The earthquake was felt in parts of Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. There have been no reports of damage.

Felt (V) at Earlville, Oglesby, Ottawa and Tonica; (IV) at Chillicothe, Dalzell, Frankfort, Granville, Hinckley, Hinsdale, Ladd, La Salle, Lockport, Marseilles, Mendota, Monee, Paw Paw, Peru, Princeton, Rock Island, Seneca, Sheridan, Somonauk, Sterling, Streator, Sublette and Utica. Also felt (IV) at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Felt in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri and Wisconsin.
