The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: A light earthquake occurred about 30 miles (45 km) southeast of Salmon, Idaho or 160 miles (260 km) east-northeast of Boise, Idaho at 6:23 PM MDT, Oct 30, 2005 (5:23 PM PDT in Montana). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. There have been no reports of damage.

Felt (V) at Leadore; (IV) at Clayton snd Salmon; (III) at Challis, Hailey and Ketchum, Idaho. Also felt at Butte, Dillon and Missoula, Montana. Felt as far as Pullman, Washington.
