The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred IN HALMAHERA, INDONESIA about 120 km (75 miles) N of Ternate, Moluccas or about 2460 km (1530 miles) ENE of JAKARTA at 6:00 PM MDT, Sep 10, 2008 (Sep 11 at 9:00 AM local time in eastern Indonesia). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. No reports of damage or casualties have been received at this time.
Felt (V) at Galela and Loloda; (IV) at Bitung and Ternate; (III) at Gorontalo and Manado. Felt (III) at Davao and Tagum; (II) at General Santos and Zamboaga, Philippines.
