The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred in the Banda Sea, Indonesia, 200 km (125 miles) SSE of Baubau, Sulawesi at 7:51 PM MDT, Aug 27, 2009 (Aug 28 at 9:51 AM local time in Banda Sea). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. No reports of damage or casualties have been received at this time.
Felt (III) at Karangkates, Kupang, Makasar and Namlea and (II) on Bali, Indonesia. Also felt at Mataram. Felt at Dili, Timor-Leste.
