The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred about 240 km (150 miles) NNW of Qamdo, Xizang (Tibet) or 380 km (235 miles) SSE of Golmud, Qinghai or 1905 km (1190 miles) WSW of BEIJING, Beijing, China at 5:49 PM MDT, Apr 13, 2010 (Apr 14 at 7:49 AM local time in China). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. There have been no reports of damage.

At least 2183 people killed, 84 missing, 12,135 injured and many buildings damaged in Yushu County.
