The following is a release by the United States Geological Survey, National Earthquake Information Center: An earthquake occurred 140 km (85 miles) E of Ambato, Ecuador, 145 km (90 miles) ENE of Riobamba, Ecuador, 160 km (100 miles) SSW of Nueva Loja, Ecuador, 170 km (105 miles) SE of QUITO, Ecuador at 5:54 AM MDT, Aug 12, 2010 (6:54 AM local time in Ecuador). The magnitude and location may be revised when additional data and further analysis results are available. There have been no reports of damage.
